Hercules beetle 1, Shuki Kato

Origami Hercules Beetle in flight, designed by Shuki Kato, folded by me. Even though this model is folded super sloppily, and looks pretty crap, it has a place in my heart as the model that made me fall in love with origami. Up until that point, I had only dabbled in origami. I chose to challenge myself with this model, and after dozens of hours, managed to create a somewhat passable model. This insect helped me realize that I could accomplish many things with perserverance, and also how rewarding complex origami could be.
